Hello beautiful people of Hive and beyond, today I wish to bring you insight as to how and who to trust with your life.
This is a true life story that happened to my friend, sadly he is not alive to tell his story.
Way back in school (university days),we were 3 close friends,but we were in different departments,I was in the medical department, while the others were in Humanities and Engineering department respectively.
You might be wondering how then did we become close friends,yes,we met in different situations.
HOW I MET RICHIE
Well, Richie came from a wealthy family and the first child of the family.
His only challenge was that his parents were never home,alot of times he confines in strangers and random girls,so on how I met Richie,we were doing our registration and paying our fees and he (Richie) was short of funds after making several payments,he didn't have transportation back home of which I noticed and slipped #2000 into his hands when I overheard him making a call telling someone over the phone that he's stranded.
Immediately he turned,looked into his hand and saw some wad of cash, his face was lit with a smile that made my day,he thanked me and we walked to the park to board taxis to our various destinations.
RICHIE'S BETRAYAL
One Monday morning while going to class,I met Richie and another fellow (James),who eventually became the 3rd friend.
Richie introduced me to James and James wasn't looking alright,I asked if all was well with him, Richie laughed out loud and said to me that James had contracted STD and the funniest part was that he used his upkeep money to acquire it.....Lol.
James became more embarrassed and walked away,I scolded Richie about his behavior , Richie wasn't remorseful about it and I had to tell him that as far as i am concerned i am a total stranger to James and i am so sure he confided in you and now everybody (me) knows.
I walked up to him and asked if he has started treatment already or if he needs help,he raised his head in shame and confusion,then I told him if he continues to hide this disease, the disease inturn will hide him permanently.
He cried and said yes that he needs help,that he confided in Richie because his father is a parish priest and he(Richie) promised nobody will ever hear it,but to his utmost surprise,it didn't take Richie 4hrs before he betrayed him and it really hurt him so bad because he's filled with regret.
Long story short,we got a solution to his problem,I made sure he followed up with all his injections and drugs and he became well and he promised not to be promiscuous and he'll face his studies.
RICHIE'S DEATH
It was during one of our good times just hanging out,we were in a sit out drinking and listening to some cool music, Richie walked in, shouting at the top of his voice in excitement and we waited for him to calm down.
Suddenly,a girl we noticed have been seen with Richie several times, walked into the sit out. It was as though they were laying ambush for him, and the girl walked up to our table and excused Richie. Richie stood up gallantly and walked out with the girl who wasn't looking a bit happy.
Argument ensued,we were actually hearing "WHO DID YOU TELL"?
"YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO KISS AND TELL....... RICHIE..... REALLY?
I got up to inquire what was going on and the next thing I heard was ahhh and the bottle fell off Richie's hand as he fell to the ground gasping for air to live.
The girls took to their heels.
That was how he lost his life,we got to find out that he leaked the secret of the girl that stabbed him to death.
MORAL LESSONS
If you can't keep a secret, don't even listen to it in the first place.
No matter who, where or when,do not use someone's secret to tell a story.
James fell bad and moved on,but the other lady didn't move on,she wanted to teach Richie a bitter lesson which obviously took his life and the said girl automatically ended her education in the institution.
I am demoralized telling this story for the first time after 18years.
