My favorite game of all time is called Rift. I was sneakily talked into playing it by being shown what Rift calls Dimensions.

Yup, the photo above started off years of learning and playing MMORPG, massively-multiplayer online role-playing game, games. The purple of the plants called to me. I was told I would get my own free little world that I could build in. I was hooked without even having downloaded the game yet.

Speaking of downloading...

I was using my son's college laptop. He had decided to leave the country for a while and asked me if I could take care of his computer. I had no idea how to use a Windows computer but I was willing to learn. If only we had the internet at home!

The call I made to the internet provider, where I live, was a shock. The phrases, "How Much?!?", "You HAVE got to be kidding me!", and "You need to find a cheaper price!" were on rotation while talking to them.

The internet company ended up finding a "Secret Special Special Deal" for me for one year. I now had internet that was a little faster than Dial-Up.

My internet was so fast that it only took seven hours to download the game Rift. Honest. Seven freaking hours. That is how bad I wanted my own world and those purple plants! 😜

I made my avatar, loaded the starting area and had no idea how to move, walk, whatever.....It took me 6 days to get out of the starting area. I can now make a new avatar and be out of the starting area in less than 10 minutes. It was a nightmare.

I am not one for giving up on learning new things that I want to do.

After being killed by monsters more times then I will even admit to, I finally was able to make enough in-game money to start making Dimensions.

I loved it.

I would spend hours upon hours working on making a new Dimension. They became part of me as I laid down each piece to make the perfect world for myself.

The video above is about a Dimension I made called "Snow". I had never thought to make a world in this Dimension. It was gloomy and cold looking.

I then fished up a coral reef one day. I had no idea what I was going to do with the new coral reef so I went to stick it in storage and I was blown away but what I saw.

Now I just needed 30 more coral reefs to make the Dimension I had seen in my mind as soon as I laid the coral reef down. 😹
