From my own point of view, I feel things should be transparent in a relationship. But before giving a point I did like to explain few things.

What is a relationship?
A relationship is a bond between two or more people either, from different ethnic groups, family or place to achieve a common goal. A relationship can also be referred to as a connection between two or more people, either romantic, familiar, friendly, or professional.
What is private?
Private in simply term is something personal or intimate, it can also be called confidential. Respecting individual privacy is really good. For a healthy and good relationship.
In the other hand, transparency is the opposite of privacy. Its an open intimacy, but in term of relationship, your passing a confidential information, with a hope that it's going to stay between two ears.
Now, back to our topic, Should things be Private or transparent in a relationship. My honest answer is yes.
Yes, because it's makes room for plenty things,and Parts of the benefits of a transparency in a relationship include:
1. Trust: Openness builds faith in each other, the engine room of trust is openness. Your ability to tell each other things is what makes bond stronger.
2. Communication: when there's communication, there would be honest dialogue or conversation and resolving issues of would never be a problem in the relationship. It gives ones spouse or partner the strength to defend you even in your absent.
3. Intimacy: Transparency brings intimacy, vulnerability deepens emotional and psychological connection between two people.
4. Accountability: when there's transparency partners take responsibility for actions they did, either wrong or right.
5. Understanding: your ability to tell your partner what happens create room for reduced misunderstandings.
