A short personal post with a few thoughts.
I was just talking to @ned today about what a wild ride this has been so far.
I'm really happy with our community. I underestimated the benefit of Steemfest at the time, partially because I think conferences in general are sort of dumb and usually a waste of time. Reflecting, though, it turned out to be one of the best things that we could have possibly done. Putting faces to names, early on, and getting to see everyone was absolutely amazing. I can't wait until the next event of its kind. We're so lucky to have the group of people here that we do.
I'm really proud of our team, the Steempunks. In the six months since I've joined the company we've made some incredible hires, and we're making more progress in several different directions than would have been possible just a short while ago. There's so much incredible stuff being built that's going to carry us into the future.
No bullshit or marketing-speak: I'm simply thrilled to work with @ned. It's so rare to encounter someone so direct, committed, honest, and sincere. I'd be lying if I said he wasn't the reason I joined this company.
This website (and community, and team, and work) has changed my life. I hope it changes yours.
It looks like today, amidst the general exuberance for cryptocurrencies in general, the wider community of investors and speculators has begun to take note of our efforts as a community. Who knows how much of it is FOMO and how much of it is regard for our steady growth and improvement? Regardless, I'm exceptionally glad to be on this ride with all of you. Moments like this, it feels like this mountain of hard work is worth it.
Thank you, and steem on!
best,
-jp
