Young talents are the future of football and they need all the encouragement we can give them to succeed. Xavier Amaechi is an Arsenal 18-year-old footballer who played very well for Freddie Ljungberg’s Under-23 side last season. Amaechi was recently promoted to Unai Emery’s first team coaching set-up which is the dream of many young talents out there.
They wish to be promoted, given a chance to play and train with the first team. But Amaechi is yet to see such opportunity under Unai Emery and he is bitterly angry over it.
While Emery included Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Tyreece John-Jules in the touring party ahead of the pre-season matches, Xavier was left behind.
The young talent went to his Instagram page to delete anything Arsenal. Apparently he is angry for being snubbed by the manager which i think is understandable considering his age.
While his contract will expire next season, the young talent is already being eyed by Bayern and he is likely to make that switch.
I don't know whether his action to delete any Arsenal trace is justified but as 18-year-old boy, he needs more time to convince the coach and wait for his time.
Football takes time, dedication and conviction to have a place in the first team and sometimes, coaches include these young payers in some matches to give them time little time to enjoy themselves on the field of play.
While i will not like him to leave Arsenal, i still think he needs time to prove his worth to the coach and not also forgetting the fact that he is just 18-year-old.
If he eventually decides to leave, well, all the best to him. Hopefully, he will play for Nigeria in the near future!
