Hello friends, it is a good feeling see myself always participating in the steemit-virus@steemit-virus contest! Today I shall be doing an interpretation of a not-so-beautiful image but one that is pregnant with meanings.

So rather than literal interpretation or philosophical analysis, I shall be doing a metaphorical interpretation of the image. I hope you find my interpretations interesting!

The world today has shifted its focus on war, fight and preparation for defense. If you look at the budget of some countries, the total amount for preparation for war is alarming. Most of the monies are times 10 of what they budgeted for poverty alleviation, youths empowerment, infrastructure development. What I see is missed priorities. When we should be concerned about the improvement of human lives, we focus on destruction.

It is not new to hear these days that country A plans to test nuclear weapon or hear that country B has tested a nuclear weapon. Trillions monies are now been spent on building weapons of mass destruction. Sometimes I just wonder when and how we got here.

Hardly is there any peace anywhere. We now leave in fears. Countries are threatening one another because of their weapons. You hear about problems and crisis in different countries and here in Nigeria. There is always this constant urge for superiority and dominance.

What I am yet to understand is why we think killing another human being will make us better? Why should we be preparing or perhaps ‘getting’ ready for war? Why do we have homeless people, less privilege, orphans and beggars on the streets but our priority is war?

The picture above shows that a nuclear bomb was probably tested somewhere remote. This nuclear bomb testing will always have impact on the earth. When these people choose a location and call it ‘remote’ what they don’t know is that lives must have been lost in the process of the testing. We are connected as human beings and this nuclear testing might remotely affect some people. This would not be reported because the major aim was to test and see the effect of the bomb on the surface it landed. They measure the impact to guess the number of people it will destroy.

This is the order of the day. I just weep for the world, innocent children. Why is peace not our goal? Why are we so caught up in this ‘self defense’ idea? Sometimes I wish some inventions were never made and some things were never discovered and weapons of mass destruction are the major things I wished this world never had any idea of.

Many people who are not killed in the war are killed while trying to escape. The news I read about Mediterranean sea every day is alarming. People flee from war zones, some flee to look for greener pastures. In the course of doing this, lives are lost by drowning.

We need peace everywhere. We need love. We need oneness. We need to prioritize safety of human lives above any other things. We should build things that will improve our lives as human beings not things that would destroy lives.

Testing of nuclear weapons will always have remote effect just as they are being tested in ‘remote’ places. There is a need for peace in this world. We need to always remember that there is only one race and that is human race!

Thanks for reading.
