Gender is the apparent difference between a male and female by their physique, structure and genitals.
A woman has unique structures and qualities that differentiate her from man. Same goes for man over woman.
This gender is how we are born or the unique human that we are. We came to this world to find ourselves being a males or females.
Nobody, in reality chose to be a male or female. It was not something we were given on a platter of gold.
I still wonder if many people will choose the gender they are born with if they had the chance to choose.
Choice was a luxury we didn't have and so, we were born as males or females and have to live with it.
I have had the opportunity to ask some people if they love their gender. Many have answered affirmative while others have showed their displeasure in how they were created.
Most times they wished they could be the opposite sex because they feel there is more opportunity for one than the other.
It is like a blind wish really because many women out there are complaining about inequality.
They want to be on a per with men in a world that seems to favour and recognise men above women.
Some men on the other hands feel they would have had it easily had they been born female. They feel women have advantages for just being women to get certain things from men and since they are men themselves, it is hard or rather impossible to get certain things.
It is like the Yoruba adage that says the one with head has no cap while the one with cap has no head.
It goes to show that we can never be contented with what we have.
Sometimes when i see a woman argue passionately to defend women. I look at her and ask myself if she would do the same thing she's doing now had she been created a male?
I ask same thing when a man stand on his feet claiming he is the man and the head. I ask if he would still hold on that same ground to argue that men are superior and should be if he was created a female?
We simply argue and support our gender forgetting it wasn't a choice we made and would not hold same ground we are holding now had we been created as the opposite sex.
So if this is not a choice but something we just found ourselves to be, can we just live our lives without been worried over this unnecessary competition.
A man is unique, so also a woman. If you wont argue to support your gender now if you had been created differently, then there is no point arguing it now.
You didn't choose that gender to start defending it. Live life.
