Unai Emery was asked some questions after our 1-1 draw with Angers at full time. He answered some of the questions affirmatively which suggest there is a deal for Pepe, Laurent Koscielny leaving or staying and many more.
The Arsenal boss was asked on how Nicolas Pepe could fit into the Arsenal squad and he answered as if we have already signed the player.
Emery argues that Pepe will fit perfectly into his squad because the team needs more good legs to strengthen it.
Emery said,
he (Pepe) played here in Angers a few years ago, and then in Lille. This one at the moment is not closed, but he (Pepe) is one we are following.
For Emery, the forward can play side by side with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and he is optimistic about the options he would have in his squad with the player around.
The boss admitted that Laurent Koscielny is very important player for the club. He did not deny the fact that the player could play elsewhere in the new season but claims he needs to focus his attention on the players with him who are playing for now.
He did not also deny the fact that Arsenal could go to the market to get a centre-back to strengthen his squad.
Hopefully, Pepe deal would be announced this week and we can focus our energy on other linked players.
