Feel free to start your own daopost. If stakeholders want to vote for it there is nothing wrong with that. Personally I think the almost-1% annual budget for DAO (plus being partial or full beneficiary on quite a few other posts) is sufficient at this point and there is more value in reduced inflation, but as inflation is scheduled to drop in future years, and with it the DAO budget, that probably won't always be the case as it is now.
As for the trending page, I don't really care. If no one can come up with good valuable content that convinces stakeholders it is worth more than burning, that says a lot about the supposed value being contributed by that content, and trending is just being honest about the fact.
Maybe what we see on trending tells us we need to reassess things on a deeper level, not complain about the symptom.
