Yup, consumers spend billions. But Steem and its stakeholders currently have no economic model to capture any of that value. All we're doing trying to pay for content with massive inflation is destroying some economic models that exist here and might actually work, for example, businesses with a compelling Steem-hosted product needing to buy Steem in order to power RCs, and investors buying it because Steem might someday become very large, without punishing said optimistic (and unfortunately rare) investors every day with 100k new tokens being pushed out daily (plus those being sold by Steemit Inc, around 26k more), with hardly any new buyers.
