Regular accounts already offer a few free transactions per day worth of RCs even with no HP. Probably enough for a passive investor.

adding over 1 million HIVE to the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF). It's over 1 million dollars, but that's a LOT more than 1 million HIVE because for most of that time HIVE was well under a dollar, closer

I think for the purpose that the current operations exist, they don't need to be shortened, and it wouldn't be a good idea to shorten them much. They're not well designed to be used for instant liquidity.

The 1.05 threshold isn't set in stone. It was done that way at first to provide a wide safety margin on a new feature and recognizing that HBD was so prone to pumps that even 1.05 would be a huge improvement.

You can almost entirely hedge the price risk of conversion by selling some HIVE incrementally during the 3.5 days. You do need a bit of extra HIVE or the ability to borrow some, but only enough to cover

Keep in mind that if HIVE is converted to HBD, in theory the total market cap of the two (combined) should remain the same. This would be true if HIVE had no other utility. However, we know people do want

Interest is set by witnesses and is paid by the blockchain.

Any fork like this people have to decide whether to respect the fork or go their own way. If the bulk of the community goes the same way, so it goes, if not then you end up with two surviving forks, or

I think it may have been ignored because the cpu limits were set based on keeping replay time from getting too long, and replay doesn't check signatures. There might be merit in having two different limits.

Good point about potentially huge amounts of unclaimed interest. I'd be in favor of capping the time period that interest is earned in inactive accounts, say to a year. This is easy to do in the code.

Yes that helps somewhat. There isn't a huge incentive to even try to figure it out and the results may be somewhat unclear anyway. Accounts frequently trading with each other isn't always wash trading

One huge complicating factor in the comparison. The trades on the internal exchange are actually real but volumes on centralized crypto exchanges are often little more than made up. That being said, the

You shouldn't really trust even your own computer. It's very hard to prevent desktop and browser exploits.

You can do market orders and still not have much slippage as long as you don't do too much at one time. 100 HBD repeatedly for hours/days = very little slippage. 100000 HBD at once = lots of slippage (if

This gives a good indication, not precise since some interest is unclaimed.

Slippage isn't terrible on the internal market if you are smart about trading. The stabilizer often buys and sometimes sells tens of thousands (sometimes hundreds of thousands) per day and barely moves

If you break up your transaction you can often buy a lot on HBD on the internal DEX without much slippage. The stabilizer buys (sometimes sells) tens of thousands often in order to stabilize and still

Nothing to do with your posts. I disagree with some of the enormous upvotes taking it too far.
