RE: One Love, One Hive
All of the early adopters of Steem created their accounts around the same time. That's when the blockchain was getting going. Downvoted for more useless annoying tagging. FYI, you can mention account names

There are numerous bots that perform arbitrage and perhaps other sorts of automated trading between the internal and external markets. HDB stabilizer continually (as long as HBD is >$1) sells HBD, often

Not directly since coinmarketcap doesn't track the Hive internal market (no reason they shouldn't IMO, they just don't). However, the added activity may spill over to encourage more trading on exchanges

@hbdstabilizer is a dumb buyer and increases volume in the market. It market buys constantly. If anything that should make it easier for smarter traders to make money (when I originally set it up, I considered

Although I have to point out that the proposed change to the code by @blocktrades that will allow conversions from hive to hbd will introduce a key component to the tokenomics that will balance out the

RE: Supplemental funding #2 for HBD stabililzer
I changed some of my votes so nothing else (previously above return) is being blocked. This new 400 HBD/hour proposal is now sitting just above return, meaning it is only getting "left over"

Still worth thinking about the economics here, and maybe adjusting what constitutes discomfort. If you want Hive to stumble along as a hobby project as long as people want to continue working it, then

You can't prove with numbers that increasing demand for buying HIVE (or any other asset) makes the price go up, because there are always other potential factors. Nevertheless, I'm going to stick with that

Capping the daily payout means other proposals wont get funded That's not what has happened. A few weeks ago when there was another proposal competing with the stabilizer, funding for the stabilizer was

SBD is now $7 and STEEM is 50 cents, barely higher than Hive. Steem has gone out of their way to break SBD again, and it hasn't helped the price of STEEM the way you suggest. You are confusing cause and

It's buying HIVE, therefore increasing demand and the price for HIVE. That benefits all Hive stakeholders.

@blocktrades explains elsewhere that whether or how well HBD works it actually a separate issue. As long as it isn't working (i.e. is overvalued), the return on investment of using HBD from the reward

The return on payout here is around 10-20% (varies as HBD price fluctuates). Ignoring compounding that's 500-1000% per year. If typical content on the trending page were doing that for the past 5 years,

We can't really use the in-house exchange price. It is priced against HIVE so we need to know the HIVE price to know if we are selling HBD for more or less than 1 USD. We sort of know the HIVE price but

FWIW, I came to post as FYI for readers what the ROI would be with compounding. I decided against bothering with the actual number after seeing what my calculator spit out, but it was something like 10^43

RE: Upvote this post to fund @hbdstabilizer
The daily limit doesn't really solve the problem. It would allow more to be spent at one time, but that would deplete the fund faster which would then reduce the budget which could be spent subsequently.
