Yes I somewhat understand. You seem to be proposing a hive-to-hbd conversion function that would happen slowly in a pool like the dao. People would decide how much to invest, and they would get back hbd

Longer term, the budget in the DAO will grow and we can do more with it. Because of the ongoing process of HIVE being converted into HBD and becoming usable in the budget. There is also the blocktrades

No that doesn't really work. The profit comes from the fact that the blockchain creates HBD for a dollar (worth of HIVE from inflation). Anyone else has to buy their HBD from the market and pay the market

That's not really the question. In directing the reward funds, the question is whether that $400 adds more value this way or more value going to some other post payouts. It's fundamentally not limited

DAO funding gets 10% of the inflation budget. The reward pool gets 65%. Fundamentally with this structure the DAO can never be a full substitute for directing funds where stakeholders think they should

No. The need is for additional HBD which only comes from rewards or DAO. If you have hive users sending HBD then it is just taking that HBD out of the market and undermining itself.

Actually the DAO funding generates a 50% profit at current prices (HBD about 1.50). The reason a post only generates 25% profit is that only half of the reward is paid in HBD. That half generates 50%.
