RE: How viable is Steem as a currency as the Steem network must constantly create tokens to reward bloggers and enable votes (causing lots of inflation)?
If you want to call four years of observing how Steem works and doesn't work to be a knee-jerk reaction than that's your prerogative, but I disagree. Proof of Brain is an intriguing idea but one which

I'm all for onboarding. Here's the problem: No one has demonstrated that they can actually do it successfully. Not Steemit, not any of the projects claiming to onboard (some with large delegations which

The idea that you have to choose between (high) inflation and distributing Steem to many hands (say a billion, to use your number) is false. There are many ways to distribute coins. For example, a front

RE: How SBD peg actually works OR How the @sbdpotato conversions won't affect SBD price
Thanks for the input. I will say that people do work on building better clients, etc. and these initiatives in no way take the place of that work. They are parallel efforts to attack the issue of sustainable

Yes anyone can claim tickets whether voting for burnpost or not (as long as they have enough available resource credits). It doesn't come out of reward pool or otherwise burn Steem.

I have made this suggestion numerous times and indeed I vote myself only after 4-5 days. However, I do understand that not all voters want to do that. This is already an option which provides a pretty

There is plenty of that already being done, unfortunately with limited results in terms of retention and growth. IMO it is better to limit downward pressure on the price until real world experience shows

If you mean excess rewards over the $25 cap, they simply aren't paid out and stay in the pool (to be used to pay other post/comment rewards). If you mean excess rewards in the @sbdpotato fund when no longer

With custom code, yes. Through the standard UI, no. It also remains to be seen if capping is even effective. In the case of @sbdpotato, the last post was capped at $25 but still got $57 worth of votes.

Comments vs posts make no difference; they both can trend and generally comments look uglier when they do trend (though this is subjective I guess). More posts+comments might help, but it is a tradeoff

Not sure what exactly you are seeing but it might have to do with the max payout on these being capped at $25. That feature hasn't been used much before and bugs or glitches in the UI would not surprise

RE: I'm back after a long time and...wow!
The "sponsored" posts are just handled by negotiating directly by Steemit Inc. There is no platform integration there, other than displaying them. I think the other questions were addressed.

I said it's both. But in the design of an economy that increases its monetary supply over time (like all real-world economies), they rely on growth to not have tremendous indvalidation of their currencies.

Bidbots are not what people vote on, they only vote on what they are paid to vote, so there is no opinion being expressed, just purely counting the payment (also known as a bribe). No one personally benefits

Coinmarketcap includes Upbit in their price calculation, but Upbit has not had a working SBD wallet for months if not longer. People are willing to sell there at a lower price because it is the only way

The commission on bittrex is only 0.25%. Whether the volume is low depends on conditions. Be cautious comparing volumes on crypto exchanges, because many exchanges and coins inflate their volume with sham

what exterior exchanges are listing SBD? Bittrex. There might be some others but be careful, there are reports of broken wallets and frequent withdrawal problems.

Limiting the payout should reduce votes, given that people voting it higher than $25 are not only wasting their vote but also earning zero curation. It may not happen immediately as there are some programmed
