I'm not 100% in favor of the idea, but I do think it should remain in consideration.

RE: EIP FAQ
Agree or disagree, your characterization of this as remotely panicky is way off base. All of the components have been discussed for a year or more (some more like three years) and the package as a whole

Insightful and forward-looking. I do agree we should think more than one step ahead. Maybe (hypothetically) EIP helps with directing inflation to rewards on a particular model of a blogging platform, but

Google takes 45%. A small handful of people get rich, buy yachts, do cocaine, while expensive hookers feed them grapes off the vine, or something Sounds about right, but sometimes it goes very, very wrong.

RE: Hardfork 21 - Steem Proposal System (SPS) + Economic Improvement Proposal (EIP)
I guess over time the significant increase in number of daily downvotes will (at least for most authors) lead to nearly the same rewards as we now have. If all works out as intended, even to more. It could.

RE: Hardfork 21 - Steem Proposal System (SPS) + Economic Improvement Proposal (EIP)
Authors will likely complain over what appears to be a more than 50% reduction in their rewards Numerically speaking, changing the split from 75/25 to 50/50 is a 33% reduction to the author portion and

RE: Have there been more downvotes since the button was relabeled and moved?
I've downvoted probably more than almost anyone else on the entire platform so don't look at me when it comes to people not downvoting. Probably a good part of the problem is that downvotes are so

You don't need to downvote something to the point that it is hidden (below zero). Just make a smaller downvote. If it is earning a reward of $ 50 and you think it is not worth more than a dollar you can

It makes the top trending more competitive since you need to spend less disposable income to top it. Not really 'spend', just (in most cases) lay it out for a week until you get it back. That's a bit of

I disagree with your conclusion for various reasons, but one of which is that vote sellers inevitably do poorly on curation, even before accounting for (possibly/likely/maybe) higher usage of downvotes.

RE: Reward the behavior you want to see - It’s really that simple
I don't really agree with this. If we assume code is law, the reward pool is set up for individuals to reward whatever they want Yes, but that's why we have both upvotes and downvotes. The reward pool

There is no other solution to this problem. We need downvotes, or we will ultimately need to get rid of the reward pool altogether. I would suggest, therefore, that instead of continuing to whine about

We have to educate so that people have a better understanding of how Steem actually works (and part of that could be UI changes to help convey this better). Rewards are allocated by the balance between
