I didn't know there were fresh water mermaids...but I'm interested!

I don't think the lakes around here are deep enough for nitrogen narcosis, so that might not work, LOL. There is a place in Missouri that is deep enough, but I don't know exactly where it is. I'll have to look up quicksilver mine, it's deep enough; besides the thermocline there is be very pronounced! We pulled a motorcycle out of it last time I was there, about 50 foot down. The bike wasn't reported stolen, so one of my dive buddies picked it up and rebuilt it.

Up at Stockton lake, we were asked by the fire department to help them find a body...Bad day! We told them we were out of air, and they refilled us; didn't see that one coming.

At Stockton, we got a slurp gun (used to capture aquarium fish) to play with. Then we found some little kids fishing, so we started putting fish on their hooks. The Dad knew, but the kids were rabid; he was telling them to just throw the line out. They didn't even need worms....
