I have considered building one myself...just to see if I can get the weight and displacement right!

But I do need other things first, so it'll have to wait. In the interim, I'll keep my eyes out for sub parts! If I use 3 phase motors, the driver electronics are about $100; and the motors are Cheap, because everyone is scared of them. If you put a steel ballast weight on it, and get in trouble; you can drop the weight, and surface if all systems are down!

I plan to do some skin diving first, to build up my calf muscles. I'm teaching a friend too, so we'll see how that goes! I've done about half of my spearfishing while skin diving, and the other half with SCUBA....

But I do enjoy being my own submarine! Even though I plan to buy a dive computer, I'm refreshing myself with dive tables and decompression stop times. I can't believe they are so clear in my mind, that course was a lot tougher than current classes! I'm back in the classes just like it's yesterday...certification is on the way too!
