Yes, the USS batfish is close to home; so many visits there. I've also been on a Russian boat in California, and the U505 German boat in Chicago. I've tried to find an old "S" class boat, but they were all scrapped out. I found an old conning tower off of one, but that's all that remains.
But they are Not made for someone my size, ROFLOL!
The USS Batfish has a ham radio club attached, and I've been thinking about joining it. I'd like to repair the on board radios, and use them during a hamfest weekend! What remains of the USS Oklahoma (the fire director mast) is also there, so they give out contact cards with both ships.
But they are all cramped, with the fleet submarine having the most room!
Oddly enough, when you're your own submarine, there is always plenty of room! It's the ultimate freedom!!!!
