I’m an advocate of privacy coins, Tor, and believe that while bitcoin is great, the future will be anonymous.

Everyone has been hacked by Equifax so maybe it doesn’t matter anymore, but I think the myriad of privacy coins that have arisen will continue to draw attention for long term HODLers. Some like Monero, have already hit their stride, while others with superior technology are lying in wait.

The Deep Onion community is strong, knowledgeable, and a growing force. Having a small circulating supply, and free airdrops scheduled for the next several weeks helps, and enthusiasm is high. The community values quality content so those that do qualify for air-drops are the cream of the crop, and have to have been a part of the bitcoin talk forum for awhile, newbies need not apply. Contributions to Deep Onion’s Community Page, Slack & Discord, and general posts that help move the agenda forward are encouraged. They really won me over with their knowledge, kindness, and focus on the task at hand.

The other thing is that the Deep Onion technology just WORKS. I’m no crypto-expert, but after watching Moderator “Monkii” walk through a Youtube tutorial, I had my wallet up and running, backed up and encrypted within minutes. I’m not super technical, but my coins were maturing in my wallet, I had my .dat and private key on a USB drive in my safe, and was getting ready to be staked. I had nodes pinging the Tor network, with an anonymous .onion IP. Man I felt cool.

Folks complain about having to open an account on the Nova Exchange to get your Onions, but I had no problem. Registration and sign up was easy, transactions were fast, and while the Nova Exchange is a little funky & clunky compared to Bittrex, it worked just fine. I like that it’s not all slick, and if there were registration issues for some users, it artificially drove down the price, as much like Deep Onion it keeps the riff raff out and allows me to get what I need with a minimal amount of dirty work. Those looking for a quick fix, or free air-drops for contributing nothing are weeded out.

And check out this video that one of the community members ‘Deep Onion’ created.

Doesn’t that get you pumped? I’m going to break out the Anonymous masks early this year, get my lightsaber and throw a party at my local central bank.

When you put together a privacy coin based on a Proof of Stake/Proof of Work hybrid, 10% staking rewards for the first year (lesser amounts thereafter), an awesome wallet that is easy to setup and use, a great community of people willing to help, plentiful bounties, lotteries, and free onion given to the worthy, AND a market cap of $2.8m, I don’t know where you can go wrong. Oh, and I forgot to mention that those onionheads that are getting the airdrops, can’t sell more than 10% or they miss out on future drops, an incentive to hold for sure.

Sign me up for more onions for satoshis on the dollar, but hopefully before they get listed on a different exchange that is more “mainstream” and all the cool kids start buying in.
