It was a hot afternoon and the end of her 7months acculturation program at Nigeria French Language Village, Badagry, Lagos state; where virtually all students studying French come to spend their 300level. Friends were giving their last hugs, boyfriends were giving their girlfriends their goodbye kisses, some people were shedding tears because they might never get to see eachother again since it was time for every one to leave for their respective school and complete their final year.
She was just sitting under the mango tree watching all the drama and feeling a bit thankful for not dating anyone within the period of the 7months acculturation program because she couldn't stand the thought of having a distant relationship afterwards. Carried away with the farewell drama going on, she got called back to life when she heard her name being called by the only friend she made all through the 7months.
Susan (friend) - Rita, Rita
Rita - Hey babe, how far na, why you cun dey shout my name like sey pesin die - what's up, why are you shouting my name as if someone died?
Susan - were you scared? By the way, why are you sitting here all by yourself? Anyways, I have good news
Rita - Hmmmm who's the guy again
Susan - stop na, I'm serious
Rita - OK, I'm listening
Susan - so, I was just strolling around the classroom section and I saw some people gathered in sale 9 (room 9) so, I decided to listen to what they were discussing.
Rita - so what were they discussing?
Susan - well the summary of the discussion was that a certain group which is recognized all over the world is planning to assist whoever is interested in travelling to any Francophone country in the world with accommodation; since most universities are not starting a new session till the next 4month. All you just need to do is get their form (which is a way of showing your seriousness) for just #5,000 and accept to work as an intern for them during your stay in whatever country you'll be choosing.
Rita - Hmmm, all these fraudster have come again. Babe, me I'm not interested ooo. What if we pay the 5k and they disappear, who are we going to hold.
Susan - they are not fraudsters Rita, I got to meet some people who came from other countries to Nigeria through them and I think they are genuine.
Rita - you dey fall my hand sometimes sha - you disappoint me sometimes. Don't you think those people were rented or something, you are you being gullible?
Susan - no, I'm not, this is genuine and the best part of this is, the school has recommended them for those who are interested in travelling to any francophone country. So you see?
Rita - are you serious?
Susan - Yea baby. (waving her hands and snapping her fingers in the air).
After doing a great job convincing Rita to buy the form, the travel date was set, the country and city both friends would reside in was chosen and the two friends started making plans on how to travel and survive in the chosen country; Togo.
