The future of Steemit looks bright but what exactly does it look like? What content type would thrive in this Steemit ocean?
I had to wake pretty early today because I was scheduled to go out with my aunt. However, she canceled last minute and I went back to bed.
First impulse every morning since joining Steemit is to check what's going on and this morning was no different. Scrolling through the "new" section, my mind began to wander off on its own (probably because I saw some type of posts that, from my little experience, won't do well at all here).
What will the future of Steemit look like?
That was all my head kept repeating and so this was my first thought this morning.
Photography. Fiction. Art (paintings, sketches).
These three sections (tags) above are definitely front runners for top spot on Steemit.
Photography, when done well, is no easy feat and I can't stop wondering why some people freak out because photography posts are doing well on steemit.
In my opinion, photography is the easiest, of the three, to immediately fall in love with and appreciate. All you need do is take a look. It's only normal you upvote what you like so why not upvote the picture!
I don't see any reason why photography posts should not be allowed to shine. With some UI tweaks, Steemit can become more attractive to photographers.
Steemit is gradually growing to become the home of stories you won't find anywhere else.
You only need to take a look at this section to see the importance and influence this batch of folks are quietly wielding.
From starters to the more experienced, everyone is given a chance to horn their skills and this can only be a good thing in the long run.
Imagine an entirely new way to read and write fiction. A world where the author doesn't necessarily have to be done with his work before knowing if people would enjoy it.
As an author, the feedback you get will only spur you to do better on the next installment.
Stories have a thing with humans (or is it the other way round?).
A well told story can hold your attention for a long time. With the daily or weekly release schedule of each story, visitors (users) are bound to always come back to Steemit.
If you have been considering this, yes now is the time to get your feet dirty. Jump into that muddy water and start to write (I heard the stories come out better this way).
These have almost the same characteristics with photography. Somehow I believe it takes way more work to pull off an amazing painting or sketch.
I have seen some really good ones on here and I just wonder. It's instantaneous; you see it, you like it, you upvote it.
I don't think, with what is on ground, that Steemit is poised for the video side of life. Most videos are still being pulled from YouTube thus denying these awesome people the full benefits of the decentralized life.
I do not also think Steemit should try to add video capabilities. Improve on your existing services and own the hell out of it.
There is a solution for makers of videos outside Steemit however, and it is called LBRY. It's exciting also but that's not why i'm here. You should check it out.
Another section I believe will do well is platform news. When I joined, the easiest way to get attention and upvotes was to write about the Steemit platform. Most of these were used to complain or ask questions and you'll think that as the site improves, these things will die down.
Maybe the complaints aspect.
Along the line, people have created tools (and will continue to) that help your steemit experience in several ways. When these announcements are made, they are bound to receive the attention they deserve.
If you plan to do well on Steemit in the future, take note.
PS. What category do I fall under? Does that mean I won't matter in steemit's future? Let's watch and see. I just might be wrong or maybe I am seeing part and not the full picture.
Maybe I'll continue to evolve and hopefully you'll like me enough to keep me alive.
Bottomline is that you stay relevant.
These are just my early morning thoughts. Might just be due to sleep deprivation. Yeah you caused that Steemit!!!
