It's obvious to me that you never played computer games or that you suck at it .
Your just a noob looser in the virtual gaming environment . ;-)

Now don't get me wrong , for the most part your post is absolutely wright about the biggest part of the gaming community . It's toxic as fuck . ( bit like hive )
But there are other gamers to , like me , who instead of watching the gov. propaganda network started up a code made by others to take on the challenge it provided . Just to get the grey mass working a bit after a dull day of hard work .
Nowhere in my life did i connect any feeling of real power to my gaming results , someone wrote a code , got payed , and i was entertained . At least this goes for single player games , human vs Ai and virtual world .
The real toxic shit comes with multiplayer gaming , human against human .
Playing a game turns a human in to a remote controlling unit that can steer it's way true a virtual world with a block of codes in a certain form . well , how cool is that . It gives possibility for people to have some experience with things they will never be able to do at that moment in there lives . Like driving a car at 8 years old , or flying a plane without taking the whole education first . Man i had fun getting in to the virtual seat of a big 747 in a fly-simulator while not having a clue about it's controls .
Multiplayer gaming to me is not about feeling powerful , brave , or manly ,.. lol , i have encountered some very skilled lady's that whooped my ass . But your wright , to most gamers it's all about power and fame ,.. the midwit mind in gaming . I devoured many , muhahaha , for i got some skills ;-). It,s not the world that is the toxic part in the story , the human's entering it are , bit like hive .
I know you would not go as far to say , he'dudes why play tennis , have some swords and be real man , but your post gives me that feeling a bit .
And it also makes me smile a bit , looking at the cash i made the last two weeks playing some dull games using my virtual gaming skills . ;-)
