What is Point of View?
Point of view is the perspective in which writing is told. There are tree main points of view that all writing is written under, first person, second person, and third person.
First Person
First Person is when the main character is telling the story. You will see words such as, I, me, mine. It can also include words such as, us, our, and we.
- 1.First Person Singular
First person Singular the narrator is usually the main character of the story, and the reader has access to the characters thoughts. All action is in the narrator’s perspective.
2.First Person Plural
First person Plural is when a story has no individual narrator. The narrator is a member of the group and no one speaker is identified.
3.First Person Peripheral
First Person Peripheral is when the story is being told by a supporting character, and not in the view point of the main character.
4.First Person Omniscient
First person Omniscient tells a story using first person pronouns such as “I” and “my”, but also knows what other characters are thinking, god like.
5.First Person Limited
The author narrates from the perspective of only one character and does not share the thoughts of other characters with the reader.
Second Person
Second person point of view is told in the perspective of you. This style of writing is most common in instructional writing.
Third person
Third person is the most common in writing. This is when the narrator is not a character in the story.

Narrator can follow multiple characters.
