Funny how I came upon this video while browsing Youtube earlier...

Anyway, to start "earning" good rewards per win, it is highly recommended to go to Silver league and above (as recommended by most Youtubers that play Splinterlands). The reasons primarily are:

You earn more daily chest rewards as you reach higher ranks.
You gain more season chest rewards as you reach higher ranks.
The amount of DEC per win increases as you reach higher ranks.

As a beginner myself, the difference in the rewards per win is significant. I was earning 7-8 DEC per win in Bronze II. Now I'm earning 12-20 DEC per win in Silver III. If you hover over the rewards summary, besides the win streak bonus, you also earn additional DEC when you use Alpha and gold cards during the battle.
