MicroStrategy owns 130,000 bitcoins as of September 20, 2022. The total purchase price for the bitcoins was almost $4B making an average price of around $30,623 per bitcoin. MicroStrategy purchased 4,167 bitcoins for $190M from Feruary 15th - April 5th of 2022.
This is leveraged money. Right now Bitcoin is about $15,700. Michael Saylor's Bitcoin holding value just got cut in half. MicroStrategy stock has fallen by almost 80% this year.
That's about $2 billion dollars of unrealized loss, more than the market cap of the company.
I don't have a crystal ball to know how this will play out, but it surely is getting very, very, very, interesting, and dangerous.
