When you have been disciplined for so long, it gets... boring? Having living through the "pandemic" for more than two years, habits changed, spending pattern changed, goals... also changed. It got a lot simpler, the "new lifestyle" eliminated a lot of former "bad habits" .
After putting in the would-be vacation money into Splinterlands earlier in the year, and HIVE in general, it has been fun and addictive. Something else to do I suppose.
Am I addicted? Or am I still making a sound investment decision?
This community is amazing, Splinterlands is being developed right now at a rapid pace among other HIVE projects. I joined around the time the SPS air drop was about to end (phew, glad I joined near the end, or I may have taken 90% haircut buying the dip that keeps on dipping!).
Being temporarily tapped out in May, and not knowing to follow @Splinterlands for all the announcements, I missed out on a lot of pre-sales that I would otherwise have participated. Missed validator nodes pre-sale, missed the Rift Watchers pre-sale, missed the Tower Defense pre-sale, missed the Runi pre-sale (and ended up paying multiple 0.38 ETH to mint and did not get a gold foil, c'est la vie!), and now I feel a bit tempted to participate in the Lux Vega sale next week, or should I?
For entertainment value, Splinterlands is a lot of fun. From an investment perspective, I should diversify and actually pick up beat up coins for higher potential return when the market turns around. But if the market does not turn around quickly... Splinterlands is a lot of fun... #LOL
Life.. is fully of trade offs and every decision comes with an opportunity cost.
