Being a little bit of a snowflake liberal I’m all up for anything that reduces the governments intrusion into regular joes privacy. This is a really important part of crypto for me. Yes sure you can see every transaction made, but unless you declare it’s you know one can know. It’s needs to be the future with increased governmental control in so many aspects of our lives. I know it’s well meaning but I can’t see how the end justifies the means.
Now I’m no drug busting gangster. In fact I’m studying law at the moment through the open university, (Wonder if this will turn contract law on its head) , with 4 cats and a somewhat derranged border collie.
I have known about bitcoin for some years. But not really found the opportunity to research enough to want to invest.
This summer a friend introduced me to POW token. They are new but offering a free airdrop. It’s based on the Ethereum network, as a erc20 token. But I was free and I got a fair few coins!!
Well that reminded me of bit coin , and litecoin. So I was off. After a days googling I made my first purchase. Coinbase is my friend. I know there’s other options but it’s so easy and I’m GBP.
Now as is so often the case I suspect you then see some other alternative coins on your radar. Mine was ripple. I’ve looked at lots of coins. Most I just don’t get. Probably not a good idea to invest in those.
I bought a nano ledger. Important if you want you keep your money secure people!
So how to buy ripple? So now I have to get on an exchange. I chose gatehub. They have a uk director, always good risk wise. There’s someone to take to court right?
So I transferred bitcoin. After dumping out completely I just exchanged and made not attempt to trade to get ripple. I still haven’t.
What I have just realised is that when you do use the exchange function it may take a while to be filled ( completed ). It comes in in drip form. On some I ended up with more than I ordered!
Simple to send of to the exchange and now I’m sitting here feeling like I might not be a newbie at this anymore.
Now the next thing that has captured my imagination is this! Steem! What a fantastic project! So now off to google and figure out how to do this! Nano seems not to be my friend here. Another learning curve come I feel!!
Any advice is always welcomed! And I hope this helps someone else get to this stage, and to this platform too.
Next project will be figuring how I can mix this knowledge I’m gaining with legal studies !!
