I recently made a trade with a good friend in the precious metals community. I suppose you could even call him a brother!
He has supported my You Tube channel from the very time it was created and I am now honored to have one of his signature bars on display. I am of course talking about Stacking Ag47.
Taking the form of the famous assault rifle know as the AK-47, his logo instantly caught my eye. It is unique, stands out when scrolling though video after video lists and cleverly detailed. It is one of the coolest logos in community and upon further scrutiny, one of the most detailed I have ever seen.
The word Stacking is apparent in the stock of the weapon. The A is made from the upper handle, hand grip and curving ammo clip. The G is just after the clip and the barrel ends with front sights comprised by the number 47. This is a very artful design and on the COA, or printed card sent with every piece he pours, this is very noticeable. But, what people don't realize, is that these details carry out through the piece.
Here we see the front of the 2.5ozt oval bar with a larger and more relaxed feel of his logo. I really like the comical feel of the word "Stackin." This is just a show if his great humor, but make no mistake, the rest is all pro!
The sides of the bar are wide enough to be "side stamped," striking the weight of the bar itself into the thin ribbon of silver that makes up its height. I sill don't see how he impressed the numbers into such a narrow space without harming the bar itself! Now, that is talent people! Side stamped coins and rounds are known, but I haven't seen many due to the difficulty in making such marks in so narrow of a field. But, the wonders of this piece don't stop here.
The reverse of of the bar holds his branding stamp. This is used to mark any pours made by him. The stamp is his personal signature as if signing a check, or contract. It is his promise that the bar's purity is as stated and is a mark of pride.
Take a closer look at that stamp! It has the very same detail as the card shown at the beginning of this article. You may need a loupe to see the tiny 47 that makes up the front sights, but the number is there!
And, to my surprise! Stacking added a personal touch to the package. A hand drawn and colored version of my own logo
stating the year we made the trade. That is an added bonus that is worth true gold. The precious metals community never ceases to amaze me in their kindness. I think the sentiment of the drawing struck me even more than the bar itself because it was not just a trade, but a token of true friendship and brotherhood.
