I keep track of many blockchain games each week. I usually use the new games as a part of my curation. This way I get to play them or review them for the local magazine where I write for the blockchain column. While looking at some of the new MMORPG games in the market I came across - 'Ember Sword'.

If you like fast paced and the fantasy theme MMORPG games then you would definitely love the Ember sword. So what exactly is it? In this post, I wish to review these games and also put a perspective on the gameplay if you like. It's one of those NFT based blockchain games I feel would have a good future.
You start with a character in the game. You pick a kingdom or home nation as they say. You then find the weapons to battle the monsters. And with that solo journey you make the progress.
This was the game test last year. The game has progressed a lot since the last years game play progress.

So what is in it for you as a reward? You get to earn the rewards in the form of the token and the NFTs. Later you get to sell those items and the NFTs and the rewards in general in the marketplace. It'd be profitable for you that way.
Currently the game is out for the testers and the beta players. Where you get to play the iteration there. The final version is going to be released in the 2023 with complete control for the players with the new data as most of the beta and the release versions data would get wiped out and not deployed on the chain.
They recently put out a new trailer with some graphics update in the game too. Which kind of goes to show they are committed to making this game a good ecosystem of it's own. Though we don't know how good that would be as a game in final release but we would find that out real soon.
Here's the solarwood version of the game trailer.
Ember sword seems to be adding the loot system too. Though we don't know how different it would be and how often it would be added in the game. Or is it going to be seasonal? It's kind of unpredictable phase as of now.
Ember is ERC-20 token. So it's ethereum. And that means the game would be expensive in terms of the asset transfer and also for holding those assets in terms of the coins. So overall the cost of ownership of ERC based games rise over a period of time.
How would this game perform once it's out in the market? You never know. You have to find out if it's a good MMORPG game or not based on the final release.
As of now everything being in beta and test period would mean it's kind of worth tracking it's progress but final release is how we can judge the game.
