The city mayor of Cebu City has decided to impound all motorcycle vehicles that counter flows. Effective January 24,2018 all those who will be caught doing such thing will issued a violation and 30 days of impoundment for your vehicle, daily rate of impoundment will be 100 pesos with a violation fee of 2,000 depends upon your violation.
This problem has been an issue here in Cebu ever since, kudos to our Mayor for giving remedy to the issue. Not to be sarcastic, does it really need to take time before you make an action Mayor?? Well anyways, at least He was able to make an action after all.
“Counter Flow - in which traffic flows in the opposite side and you tend to pass through the other lane”.
First time I’ve heard about the new policy. I’ve actually disagreed about it since I’m also a motorbike owner, but when you try to think of it deeply you would be able to understand why they implemented such law. This not just to hold your vehicles to earn more money for the government, but it also lessen the accidents here in cebu city and I think this is what we call the “Change is coming” for the Cebuano people.

DRIVING WITHOUT A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE/CONDUCTOR’S PERMIT - Php 3,000.00
DRIVING A MOTOR VEHICLE USED IN THE COMMISSION OF A CRIME UPON CONVICTION BY A REGULAR COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION - Php 10,000.00
COMMISSION OF A CRIME IN THE COURSE OF APPREHENSION UPON CONVICTION BY A REGULAR COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION - Php 10,000.00
DRIVING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL, DANGEROUS DRUGS AND/OR SIMILAR SUBSTANCE UPON FINAL CONVICTION BY A REGULAR COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION (SECTION 12, R.A. 10586)
RECKLESS DRIVING
- First offense – Php 2,000.00
- Second offense – Php 3,000.00
- Subsequent offense – Php 10,000.00
SUBMISSION OF FAKE DOCUMENTS IN RELATION TO THE APPLICATION FOR A DRIVER’S LICENSE (NEW/ RENEWAL)
Above are just a some of the violations and fees that Cebu City LTO are currently implementing, so for those who are planning to do such a problem better think first before doing such actions.
