Carnival celebrations start each year end of January in Greece. That is a fun time! People dress up, dance in the streets, there are a lot of parties happening everywhere. There are many stores that only sell costumes, decorations, props for carnival.
The biggest carnivals take place in many cities across Greece on the weekend before Clean Monday (another beautiful holiday to experience in Greece. I will post about it next time).
One most impressive and fun carnivals happen in Patras, Xanthi, Rethymno cities in Greece.
Last Sunday I participated in carnival of Ierapetra town in the south of Crete island. A few photos from there.
