I don't know how many of you have ever had or currently have some type of pet. I had many varieties of pets as a kid growing up, Guinea pigs, rabbits, parakeets, turtles, a dog, a kitten for a very short time (because I ended up being allergic) and fish. I am definitely an animal lover, but if I had a choice I would always choose a dog. I currently have two awesome dogs that I consider my children because I don't have any human children of my own. One of my babies I have had for 14 years. She is an old girl but has been by my side through many good and bad times. I cherish the time we have left together. My other fur baby is almost 7. I found him after me and the love of my life moved in together. He is definitely a daddy's boy but he is always by my side. He is my protector, my cuddler and my source of laughter. He is definitely a clown and makes us laugh every day. The reason I am writing about my awesome friends is because as I sit here, by little buddy is curled up next to me sleeping, and I thought to myself, I can't believe how much I love this little furry being. I say little because he is smaller than me but he probably weighs at least 50 pounds, which is mostly muscle. He is a pitty breed. He is the sweetest dog I have ever known, so those of you with negative opinions of the breed need not comment. I respect your opinion but would rather not become irritated by them.
So this furry friend of mine follows me everywhere. If I walk to the kitchen he is right there, he makes sure I have a safe journey to the restroom and will curl up and sleep next to me wherever that may end up being. If you have not had the privilege of having a dog in your life I highly recommend it. They are a responsibility of course, but they are a source of light in times of dark, laughter when all you want to do is cry and entertainment on a boring day.20151015_061500.jpg20150224_114444-1 (2).jpgMuttly.jpg
