Sony is apparently three months out from officially rebooting the Resident Evil movie series but, do we really need another one, the previous run already stretched six movies and pulled in over a billion dollars but the quality was all over the place and it kept getting further from what made the games work, the problem was always leaning too hard into the action and completely forgetting that the horror and the dread are what got people invested in the first place, video game movies have figured some things out recently but Resident Evil specifically is going to need more than action spectacle to feel right,
