I actually saw that movie with Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried a while back and it was a pretty strange watch, btw the ratings online where poor but it was an ok watch. Now that I know its based on a short German book it makes a lot more sense why the movie felt so contained and weird. Sometimes translations can be rough but its good to hear this one flows well and keeps the tension going. The first person perspective from the husband while the house is basically trying to trap his family in the Alps sounds way more intense on paper than on screen, I feel like movies always struggle to show that internal panic when things start feeling off. I might grab the ebook version for my Kobo too and see how it compares to the movie. Thx for sharing ✌️
