Red Bull is literally flying compare to other teams although some declarations from Hamilton saying that not even when Mercedes was at peak dominance they were not as fast as Red Bull on a straight line, specially when Max start from 15 end 2 and fly by next to Hamilton, probably he felt Max was going lightning speed compare to his car but latter on it was proven that its not the case, Mercedes was way faster than the rest of the grid when they were at peak dominance few years ago, now days things are "suppose" to be more competitive with the cost cap in place and with the new aero design of the cars that produce less dirty air and the driver coming from behind can follow closer.
On Jeddah we say Red Bull first parts failure with Max car, the driveshaft had problems during Q2 Session reason why Max couldn't finish Quali and had to start 15 on the grid, its hard to be on top and be reliable at the same time considering that you are trying to extract the most power from the car, Max said after the race that he is ok with second place and with the one and two for Red Bull but he is not happy and expect more from the team to have the car in optimal conditions as he is not in F1 to be second place. Red Bull have been trying to nurse the cars during the last two races since they were on top and there was not race, Max despite instructions and reporting vibrations on the rear of the car went for the fastest lap as he wont give any free points to Sergio Perez, I understand that its hard to stay on top but the entire attitude of Max is just annoying, its true that nobody force Sergio to help him on 2021 and 2022 but Max have shown the world the kind of selfish and reckless person he can be.
But, personally, I’m not happy. Because I’m not here to be second, especially when you are working very hard, also back at the factory to make sure that you arrive here in a good state and making sure that everything is spot on. And then you have to do a recovery race, which I like – I mean, I don’t mind doing it.
Blames the factory?? Blames the engineer??
But when you’re fighting for a championship, especially when it looks like it’s just between two cars – we have to make sure that also the two cars are reliable
Blames the Mechanics??
Hope Sergio kicks his ass on Australia and make him cry harder
McLaren after spending a lot of money to get Piastri on board and Dani out, paid him for not driving the car and he still got a job at Red Bull. McLaren I think is getting desperate and heads started to roll with the first victim to be James Key, ex tech director for McLaren. We already know Lando is a great driver and Piastri is also a very accomplish driver at his still short age but the car is just not there, on 2023 cars have been raise to 15mm to avoid porposing, some still have it but its not extreme as last year, this also means the car will have less downforce meaning less performance but for McLaren nothing seem to be working, they already had to retire Piastri on the first race, Lando is having hard time with the car, drivers have said they working hard but the balance and performance is not there. Similar case is Mercedes with the exception that George tend to get more performance out of the car than Hamilton for some strange reason, its probably he is use to deal with Williams car and now the Mercedes is a breeze???
McLaren has decided to over hall the entire technical director personnel in an attempt to at least get back to the middle of the grid, upgrades are coming for all teams as they come closer to Spain when they usually have most of the upgrade package ready but at the moment they start to push the car then usually they have to deal with what's going to break, McLaren is using Mercedes engines that is doing wonders for Aston Martin.
Mercedes has been fighting their car since last year, first it was the porposing problem but now they lack performance and the car is too dragy, since their car design have such different side pods its been said that that's the problem although drivers like Hamilton and Totto himself has said it doesn't look like that's the issue.
Hamilton have complain many times that they are not listening to him, after 7 titles he must know something about the car but then you have Rusell out performing Hamilton with the same car, I guess it all comes down to the driver in this case, it could be the same car but different driving style with different setup is what gives Rusell the advantage and that's part of the drivers talent.
Recently it has been reveal on different media outlets that the problem of the car is the rear end, but then why Aston Martin is doing so well if they also use the same rear end??
Engineers are been fire at Mercedes as the model that was use during the wind tunnel testing, from my understanding some of the parts, not the entire car, some of the parts use on the wind tunnel were out of spec and the production car end up different than the simulation and wind tunnel testing.
I really hope Mercedes get back on track and make their no side pod concept work, it would be an achievement for the entire sport because it shows improvement even going on a different direction.
I'm a fan of the sport, no expert, no critic, I just give my opinion on what I see and understand always accepting when I can be wrong about something, would love to see all three big teams Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari and now Aston Martin as fighting at the top but right now it only looks like its Rer Bull and the Green Red Bull at the top.
