The morning sun glazes
there is stillness in the air
beauty in the bayou
causing my eyes to stare
A silent breeze
no noise to be found
gentle still water
nature to be unbound
The silence is broken
there are birds diving down
fish are scattering
breakfast has been found
The water and grass of the bayou
supports many types of wildlife
a tender environment
occasionally filled with strife
The tide is rising
as the grass continues to sway
fisherman are arriving
for the catch of the day
The sun is setting
the bayou is going to sleep
there is a beautiful view
where the water and sun meet
