Sitting on a log
staring into each other's eye
assaying their fate
deciding to either flee or die
Happening upon each other
on a late winter's day
a perfect moment
where each can have his say
Bikers and walkers are stopped
spectators to this contest
wondering if they will fight
or just continue to rest
All eyes are upon them
they are like still life
living in the moment
amid some steep strife
A meaningful conversation
just between the two
coming to an understanding
only they have a clue
Slipping into the water
each goes his way
having entertained the spectators
on this beautiful day
