An alien visitor
trying to invade my home
with beady little eyes
afraid to be alone
A glorious creature
one of God's creations
peering in the window
waiting for an invitation
Looking through the window
observing how we live
searching for food
wanting us to give
The door opens
there is an opportunity
flying to the door
calling to his community
The door slams
there is a swat
he flies away
another window is sought
Other aliens join him
they have built a nest
swarming around the window
more wood to ingest
The weather is cooler
time to settle down
planning a new invasion
when the spring comes round
