In my spare time I run a video game news and review website. Having discovered this amazing platform, I was hoping that we might be able to gain an audience on Steemit.

Here's a daily news roundup of everything interesting that has happened in the world of gaming on Wednesday September 20, 2017.

Xbox One X Pre-orders Now Open, Microsoft Say Be Quick

Microsoft has finally opened up pre-orders for Xbox One X. Pre-orders began being accepted earlier today in the UK and the rest of the world ahead of the console's launch on November 7.

Due to high demand for the "most powerful console" ever, Microsoft recommends that anyone wanting to grab a launch day Xbox One X should pre-order one sooner rather than later to avoid being disappointed.

If you're thinking to yourself why is this news when Microsoft already opened pre-orders for Xbox One X last month, you'd be partly correct. Last month, Microsoft made the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition available to pre-order.

However the standard Xbox One X console is what is available to pre-order right now and it's probably safe to assume there's a lot more available than Project Scorpio Edition Xbox One Xs.

UK retailer GAME is offering the Xbox One X console, a copy of Forza Motorsport 7 and Minecraft Story Mode Season 2 for £487.99.

Xbox One X launches worldwide on November 7.

Epic Games Announces That Fortnite Battle Royale Will Be Free-to-Play

When Epic Games released the Battle Royale game mode for Fortnite, it took a lot of people by surprise. Not only did Fortnite not need it, but Fortnite isn't your typical survival game in the same form as let's say, King of the Kill or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

Right now, Battle Royale is only available to those who have already purchased a copy of Fortnite. However as of next week, Epic Games has revealed that the 1oo-player game mode will be available to play for free to everyone.

That means that Fortnite Battle Royale will be released as a separate game and will not need a copy of Fortnite in order to be played.

You can grab the Battle Royale mode for Fortnite on September 26 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Activision Teases Call of Duty: WWII Meet The Allies

This week saw Activision release the campaign trailer for Call of Duty: WWII. It's safe to say that it got funs extremely excited for the game's launch in November.

Unlike it's Infinite Warfare trailer which became one of YouTube's most disliked gaming videos of all time, the WWII campaign trailer received heaps of praise.

Jumping on the back of that success, Activision have released two short trailers that introduce some of the allies players will work with in Call of Duty: WWII.

The two trailers feature a character called Rousseau, who is the leader of the French Resistance, and Major Arthur Crowley who is a member of the British Secret Service.

Tomorrow Activision will shed some light on the real life battles that helped shaped the campaign.

Latest Rainbow Six Siege Update Can Corrupt PS4 Hard Drives

If you're a big Rainbow Six Siege fan and you own a PS4, this bit of news is for you! Ubisoft recently released a new update for the game on PS4, Xbox One and PC however some PS4 gamers have reported that the update has corrupted their hard drives after they've booted up the game.

Along with the corrupted hard drives, other PlayStation 4 gamers are also reporting constant crashes which have rendered the game unplayable since the update.

Ubisoft are aware of the issue but seem to think that the problem is coming from players inviting friends to play with them on PS4. As a result, they are advising players to avoid inviting others to play Rainbow Six Siege while they work on a fix.
