Yesterday I had fun playing Steemwars which had a subject of REMEMBERING THE 80's. I had the pleasure of not only surviving the 80's and high school, but also seeing the rapid evolution of world. Life was changing at the speed of light and we all had a front row seat to the spectacular advancements happening everyday. We could use a BBS system to communicate with people all over the world. What a great time to be present in the moment.
This got me to thinking about my immortality. You see, 10 years ago, I never thought in a million years I would be sitting here writing this. I didn't think I would have the job that I do, living where here sounded by the people that I am. Was it fate luck and chance that got me here. No exactly, it was a series of choices that I have made, some seemed minor at the time while others I knew would be monumental. And then there are the choice I made without thought, which may be some of the most dangerous. If we can't do anything about our past, do we have the opportunity to change our future? Of course we do, we just can't expect it to happen overnight. If we are overweight, it's not because we ate a Twinkie and all off a sudden we weigh 500lbs.
How do you view your life 10 years from now? Do you even think about it? Keep in mind that you can lie to everyone except for the person in the mirror. Life isn't always sugarcoated and pleasant, sometimes it's a little dirty and messy. The choices you make today have ramifications down the road. You can choose to ride along or you can get in the drivers seat drive it like you stole it.
"What would you do if you knew you could not fail?" I am not sure who the original author of this is, but I know I have heard different versions of the same thing as far back as I can remember. It is a simple question with a complex answer. It forces you to dive in deep, to the core of the answer asking why at least 7 times to really justify the answer. Otherwise, it's more of a knee jerk reaction to appease the inquisitive.
