In my humble opinion, this is just another way for us to evolve, not only as a civilization, but as humans as well. I know that not everybody shares the beliefs of evolution and that is ok. Having a difference of opinions is what helps the world go around. Some of the greatest nights in my so-called-life, involved music and different viewpoints. Having a passionate discussion is hot and a lost art.
The other night I had the distinct pleasure of hanging out at the pool, drinking wine and having a real conversation around midnight. Cell phones were left inside and we splashed around in the water for a couple of hours. We have known each other since college, which for me is several lifetimes ago. For better or worse we tell each other everything, which means, she has been a passenger on my crazy train and my lack of good judgement when it comes to my choice of women and my failure to be in a relationship that lasts longer than a mini series.
The moon was hidden by clouds as intermittent rain drops fell from the sky. As usual we bare our souls, exposing our true thoughts and feelings in a manner that only two trusting spirits can waltz together. We had our romantic time together when we were much younger and in different places emotionally. Now, we tell tales of whoa as we attempt to give counsel in a manner that isn't judgemental, it's context is supposed to be sage advice. No hidden agenda, just real talk.
It took a long time to get to this point, the reward is that now it is very refreshing to know that we can be unfiltered and uncensored. We took our time discussing the next stages in our lives. and what we felt the best directions we should take. We bounced ideas off of each other knowing that we were ok doing that. We laughed a lot and acted childish, ok, so I was the one acting childish, as I splashed her every time I came near where she was sitting. We didn't solve the world's problems that night, however we made sure we made the other aware that they weren't alone. That no matter what, we would be there for each other. It all started with a face to face conversation which helped enrich each others day.
