Have you ever been so overwhelmed by the things of this world that it so much affect you?
Have you ever been raising questions in your heart as to how life seems to treat you? Have you ever wondered why despite the fact that you have put in so much effort in that endeavour of yours and all effort is in futility? You see, all this questions are burdens. Burdens that makes the heart faint. Burdens that are heavy so much that it slows down ones progress and journey.
Hey! I bring to you good news! Here is the solution to every life's questions that seems to borders the heart and the mind.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Every of the stages we pass through in life tends to threaten our very existence. When one finds it hard to provide solutions to those problems that troubles the heart, then the heart becomes weary. God is offering you the solution to that very thing that brings unrest to you. The first thing to do is that you COME
He said, come unto me. That is an open invitation to you. Are you disturbed by what seems trouble your mind, he is saying to you Come
You see! At a point in my life, I thought I could do all the things I can do provided I believe in myself (maybe it's as a result of the fact that I have so much listened to motivational speech) . So thought I could do all things by my strength. After trying everything by myself, I was frustrated by all my efforts. My labour wearied me. As funny as this may sound, I became weak even in myself. I became heavy laden.
The same might be applicable into you as well. You might be frustrated by how life had treated you. You might tried everything possible so as to get you off the life that borders the heart. God is saying unto you to COME
Let me remind you this. Everyone on earth has a divine purpose as it is planned by God. In this regards, he sent Jesus Christ to this earth just to prove this point that he loves and cares for you. He gave Jesus as gift just to prove unto you that you are special. He is now saying unto you that if it takes him to create you, if it takes him to prove this point by coming to earth to die for you, then he is saying to to Come unto him
He is the only one that can help you in this journey of life. You can't live your life outside the plan of the one who created you in the first place, no matter how hard you try. See! You can't just do it all by yourself. Labouring by your strength will bring heaviness to your heart. This is a heavy laden. He is inviting you to COME. He is saying to you to forget the fact that you have strength. He wants to be your strength. He wants to give you rest. He wants to lift that heavy laden as a result of your much labour.
Rest is a relieve from a strenuous activity or work. I don't know how to best explain this but I know that you will get it with this little explanation.
The rest he promise to give you is tied to how much you tend to respond to his invitation. Finding his rest cannot be achieved outside the knowledge of the very one who invited you to enjoy his rest. What I had just talked is a gradual process. As he keeps beckoning on you, you keep responding to his invitation. When he says come, then you respond by saying "Here I am".
You can't effectively come into this reality outside the influence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps you to understand the knowledge of the one who sent you an invitation. It is a thong to study God's word, it's another thing to understand the word. It must be real to you. It is not about storing the knowledge as information. It's about working in the reality of this knowledge. It is a process. Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit so that this can be real to you. So that you can find rest.
