You certainly needed to give that space a little love, you will see that if you maintain it, it will always be beautiful and productive. I'm sorry to hear you removed the pumpkin plant, it looked very productive. I can't plant pumpkin in my backyard because my animals eat the leaves as soon as they sprout, I see that your dogs don't do that.
