Árnica (Arnica montana).
Topocho (Musa ABB).
Granada (Punica granatum).
ENGLISH
Arnica (Arnica montana).
Topocho or banana (Musa ABB).
Pomegranate (Punica granatum).
It should be noted that I regularly grow these three plants on my plot and all the photos that I offer are taken at my home, except for the cover photo.
ARNICA (Arnica montana)
It is an exceptional food for bees of all species, as well as for hummingbirds; and
Serves as green manure.
Treatment of blows, dislocations, sprains: Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is very effective for these injuries, for which an ointment can be made (too bad I don't have enough to make it), or its leaves can be added to an oil so that they macerate in it, and then massage the affected area. I have used it as a tincture, macerated in liqueur and it is very effective.
Improves blood flow: I understand that some naturopaths use it to prevent heart attacks, strokes and other events of this nature, as well as to regulate the heart rate, but I lack sufficient information and experience to ensure this.
Acne: It is not my case, but I know young people who use it in poultices or cooking to heal these lesions.
Arthritis: My Tía Chichita applied arnica macerated in liqueaur (tincture), in order to treat the pain caused by this disease, being very effective for it, I understand that by reducing inflammation and promoting blood circulation, these lesions are reduce.
Alopecia: Lately I read that it is effective to reduce alopecia, especially when it is incipient, applying its infusion on the scalp and massaging. Once my plants grow, I'll be using it and telling you about it.
Canker sores and mouth ulcers, skin lesions, vaginitis: Since it has healing and antibacterial properties, the tincture diluted in water is applied to the mucous membranes (mouth, vagina), and to the skin without dilution, directly on the lesion.
TOPOCHO OR BANANA (Musa ABB)
- Its flowers are the favorite food of certain melipon bees known as pegones (Trigona spinipes). Hummingbirds love to suck them too.
- Its fruits are delicious, they can be eaten cooked (green = plantains, flour or ripe = fried, cakes, sweets); and raw (ripe). Being green, they are dehydrated, ground and an excellent flour is prepared, gluten-free and suitable for all ages, from one year. The peel can also be eaten, for which they are cooked well, shredded and stewed.
- Its leaves are useful for cooking, eating and building temporary shelters.
- The stems have large reserves of water, so when cutting a plant that has already loaded, it is done leaving two thirds of its length, so that it provides moisture to the soil.
- Elimination of gallstones: Months ago I made a publication about this natural remedy, since my husband suffers from this disease, and I regularly cook the topocho leaves that start their aging process, so that he ingests the cooking at the rate of two Daily glasses: One in the morning and one in the afternoon. Until now, it has not been necessary to intervene surgically, although when the abdominal echo was performed before starting the ingestion of this cooking, 5 stones were seen equidistant from each other; I don't think I have completely eliminated them, but you can consume any food without any discomfort: grains, fried foods, among others. You can see my post related to the topic:
- Cancer treatment: I have a family member who was diagnosed with cancer, and he consumed the extract or juice of the topocho stems to reduce his injuries. I think it was effective, although it was accompanied by other natural and allopathic medicines; however, there is much literature that refers to this benefit.
- Heartburn: When I consume coffee in excess, my stomach usually gets irritated, so I usually drink the cooking of its leaves when I have a discomfort of this nature, refreshing me and relieving the discomfort.
- Constipation: Both its fruit and the cooking of the plant are very effective in promoting and regulating intestinal transit, eliminating constipation; I've checked it out for myself.
- Diarrhea: The consumption of the green fruit serves to stop diarrhea, I have also used it on occasion. A lady from the town told me that consuming the green topocho shake with cow's milk, and ingesting it on an empty stomach for 30-45 days is an insurmountable remedy for gastritis caused by the Helicobacter pylori bacterium, as it heals stomach wounds and eliminates stomach bacterium.
POMEGRANATE (Punica granatum)
As with moles, pegones (Trigona spinipes), Apis bees and hummingbirds love to suck their flowers.
It is a "pump" of healthy vitamins and minerals, such as A, C and potassium, so it is nutritious.
Its fruit offers cosmetic benefits, since it minimizes the effects of aging.
Protector against heart diseases: Due to its high content of flavonoids, vitamins A and C and minerals such as potassium that regulates homeostasis, promoting blood circulation and reducing blood pressure or pressure.
Protector against cancer: Due to the elements it contains, it eliminates free radicals, reducing the risk of contracting cancer.
Treatment of stomach disorders: Because of the astringent and anti-inflammatory it contains, especially in the bark, it is ideal for treating diarrhea, colic and bruising.
Dewormer: The cooking of its peel is used to treat intestinal parasites and amoebiasis.
Optimizes the immune system.
As I read, it increases testosterone levels, which promotes sexual desire.
