The Mitsui Outlet Mall is about an hour away by bus from Taichung City in Taiwan. Although its called an outlet mall, I don't think the shop does very good bargains at all. I like coming here for a day out by the port more than anything else. It's very relaxing to sit outside on the deck and watch the not very busy port.
One shop that is worth browsing is the Eslite Bookstore. Eslite is the largest bookstore in Taiwan and has developed into a lifestyle concept store in recent years. Their store here is one of their flagships, and the only one with a full sea view. Its interior has a cargo theme.
Although the shops are so so here, the food court is exceptionally good with many well known Japanese food stalls. That's because Mitsui is a Japanese owned company. I was spoilt for chose in choosing what to have for lunch.
In the afternoon I went outside to look at the other landmark here. The ferris wheel. I walked up the ramp and got a really good close look at the wheel.
You can also access the higher level of the ferris wheel from the Eslite Bookstore. I came here later on in the afternoon to catch the sunset. The view was fantastic and great to round off the day.
