DAHLIAS - to the Hokkien, it's known as jia yap or han zi huay (sweet potato flower) because of its underground tubers. this plant is like the Gloxinia. After flowering, it shall die down. The tubers can be dug up and stored in a cool place before planting it out again. it's usually grown by seeds. Needs full sun and lots of watering and rich organic soil.
