The cool thing, though, is we can use that same fundamental principle to create positive feedback loops, too.

Simply exchanging the word “have” to “get” makes a phenomenal difference.

Example:

I have to pay the power bill.
I get to pay the power bill.

One is a task or chore. Something forced.

The other is a privilege. Some people don’t even have access to power even if they could afford it. It’s just not in the area. I live in a place that has it and provides it at a rate I can afford to pay, even if I could bitch about how much I have to pay for it.

It works all the way down the line.

Even when having the worst luck, each ordeal is an opportunity to be grateful that I’m capable of dealing with whatever crosses my path.

Men don’t evolve into gods by never overcoming the trifles of living.
