I’m fascinated by this struggle. I’d think it would be cheaper for companies to maintain remote work, but I also see that people who don’t “report” to work tend to realize they aren’t property of their employers… which is quite different than the world I grew up in.
No doubt companies see that, too. I’d like to think the average Joe will win this round, since we’ve more or less been enslaved SPT decades+, but the empire always wins… until it doesn’t, of course, but losses seem few and far between.
