I think this debate is good for the ecosystem. I definitely want good, well thought out content to consume when I come here, but I like a good meme, too. It feels like this is kind of a similar situation to the bots debate in Splinterlands. Bare with me a minute...

There are people in the game that have dozens of accounts run by bots. Some players feel this fosters conditions for abuse, as individuals with an army can extract more of the reward pool at the expense of everyone else.

Having said that, each bot account had to buy a starter deck, so they've earned the right to play. The devs allow them, and I would argue it's because of bots that I always have an opponent, rather than being unable to find a match, which was a minor issue in the early days.

Bringing it back around to the point... mems are content, too. Some of us my think them foolish, or unworthy, while others enjoy them, and seek them out. One person's trash is another's treasure, as the saying goes.

I feel like we should focus less on the subjective stuff. If we don't like cat videos just keep scrolling. There's no need to fuck someone on our way through just because they didn't take the opportunity to perform specifically for us.

I'd also, like to point out that we have spam bots to seek out abuses, so if you just don't trust the system and need to vigilantly do your part to ensure no one gets $3 you don't think they deserve try to at least be certain it's an act of abuse and not just something you find unappealing on a personal level. No one likes a bully.
