I recently looked into dsound again and I'm not sure if it's gone or just under serious reconstruction. The little I could find about it led me to believe there were too many plagiarism/copyright issues that needed to be addressed but the info I could find was sparse and not very informative. I hope we get something like this again and I think the 3speak project might cover this but I'm not particularly up to date on that project either.
